Local artist Harriet Sheppard, brought a sprinkle of magic to our YCT guests, as she hosted an online paint pour workshop, wearing her fairy wings, and accompanied by her dog ‘Mouse’.
She approached the Trust at the start of lockdown, wanting to support our guests as they will not be able to have a YCT holiday this year. Embarking on a fundraising mission, Harriet raised over £700 to buy materials to create paint pour kits that were sent to each participant.
Over a series of weekend workshops, guests were able to join together online and learn how to set up and do their first paint pour with tips, techniques and ideas for them to continue creating their own pieces at home.
As well as having a lot of fun and enjoying connecting with each other, guests created some stunning pieces of art, with many claiming they have found a new hobby.
During the workshops, Harriet created 3 beach themed paintings, which she is selling as a set, to raise money for further paint pour workshops.
Big thank you to Harriet and everyone who donated to and supported the project including Royal Talens and Wessex Boxes.
Here’s what our guests had to say:
‘Really enjoyed doing something different and might become a new hobby’

‘Taking part in the paint pour was great. It was nice to catch up with people from previous holidays. Harriet was great talking us through the techniques. It was really nice to try something different especially being in lockdown for so long’
